128 Richmond Street
Charlottetown, PE
March 11 – April 19, 2019
On March 8th, this town is small (Charlottetown, PE) will present A Brief Commotion an exhibition of works by island artist Damien Worth. This is part of a series of collaborative exhibitions between the artist-run-centre and local coffee shop Receiver Coffee Co. This series of paintings have been in production for over twelve years. The project, “A Brief Commotion” refers to scenarios in which the characters (and audience) navigate a shift in reality; they try to make sense of situations rife with disruption and dislocation.
About the work, Damien says “I like to think of each work as a chapter fragment from an a-linear pseudo-mythic novel. The landscape and climate are the central figures. I am drawn to the idea of presenting the natural world’s rebellious agency– demonstrating situations that throw logic, predictability, and perception into flux.” A Brief Commotion will be on view until April 19th, 2019.
This exhibition can be viewed Saturday to Thursdays from 7:00am – 6:00pm and Fridays from 7:00am – 8:00pm
