ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
For the first year of this new program, 2 PEI artists have been jury-selected to spend 1 week in residence at Rock Barra Artist Retreat. Following their residency, Somnia Lucent and Chris McInnis, will present an artist talk discussing their work and processes.
Utilizing interactive technology, video installation, sculpture, and textiles to generate oscillations in both physical and virtual spaces Somnia Lucent creates to affect ambient healing within an ephemeral expression of reality. Somnia will be creating sonic tinctures for healing using field recordings gathered on the property at Rock Barra.
Chris McInnis is a fibre-based artist who focuses on using reclaimed materials and natural dyes to create handmade specialty items at the highest quality possible. Chris will be working with and cataloguing the natural dye plants on the property.
