From October 7 – November 15 at Receiver Coffee, this town is small is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Monica Lacey.
This series of paintings uses collage, watercolour, ink, and encaustic to explore issues and sentiments around longing and belonging: to a family, to a relationship,
to a group, to a landscape, to the world we live in. In some cases there is a solitary figure, experiencing a variety of emotions, from a sense of comfort and contentment to the fog of new explorations. In others there is a clear group dynamic and atmosphere of togetherness, which affects everyone differently.
