DEADLINE JANUARY 8 2020
this town is small x Receiver Coffee: Call for Submissions
this town is small is seeking exhibition proposals for the 2020 season from professional artists residing in PEI for exhibitions in the space we are programming at Receiver Coffee, 128 Richmond Street, Charlottetown PEI.
We are interested in progressive forward-looking practices; the fruition of innovative ideas; inventive approaches to artistic production; and work based on an articulate theoretical and/or critical and/or poetic thesis. We encourage and facilitate the presentation of curatorial and artistic works that have and have not been exhibited in this locale. We are enthusiastic about artists’ most recent endeavours and art forms that propel contemporary production and incite conversation.
Receiver Coffee is unique in the sense that it is not a typical white cube gallery space – it is public space that is already rich in character and interaction. Site-specific works that take into account the unique context of Receiver Coffee will be given priority.
Artists and Curators submitting a proposal should be aware that there is an element of vulnerability for the work as it is a high-traffic exhibition space where food and beverages are consumed. The artist assumes full responsibility for the work including any damage or loss. Exhibitions will run for 6-8 weeks.
Submissions due JANUARY 8 2020
Artist fees that meet CARFAC guidelines will be paid to selected artists.
