Finding Myself – varied works by Melina DesRoches

October to December 31st 2016

Summerside emerging mixed media visual artist Melina DesRoches, created her exhibit called “Finding Myself” by incorporating a wide variety of materials and media including items that had been discarded or had another proposed purpose. Certain pieces she reworked previously created art that was still calling to her. Tweaking it until she felt it was complete. Once she could hang it on her wall and it made her smile, she knew it was done.

Throughout the creation process, she set herself free of any desired outcome and just created art that wanted to be made through her, which was incredibly freeing. And allowed her to grow as an artist by trusting her intuition and being completely involved in the process of creating art. Pushing her creative comfort zone with each new piece she created.

Melina’s exhibit has a vast range of styles and design, from landscapes, textiles, acrylics, pastels, and her passion for abstract art. Her exhibit can be viewed at the Charlottetown Farmers Market during

October 2016 to January 2017.
