The Parkman Ave Residency Program for PEI Artists
The Parkman Ave Residency Program is an artist-in-residence program at the Copper Bottom Brewery in Montague, PEI, in partnership with this town is small inc., PEI’s Artist-Run Centre, and supported by Innovation PEI through the PEI Culture Action Plan.
Eligibility: The residency is open to professional artists residing in PEI.
Duration: 1 week. There are two 1-week residency blocks available.
Dates (subject to change): November 1 – 8
November 8 – 15
Deadline: The deadline to apply is July 13, 2019
Selected artists will be given a stipend of 1000$ for the 1-week residency. There is no application fee.
Please note the residency studio space is located in Copper Bottom Brewing Company, which is a busy public place. Artists working in any media may apply, but no toxic materials or solvents may be used in the space (no oil paint, etc.). As the residency takes place in a brewery, artists must be 19+ to apply.
This program has a community engagement component, and selected artists agree to present either a public artist talk or a workshop at the completion of the residency.
What is provided:
– studio space at the Copper Bottom Brewery
– lodging in the town of Montague
– support for community interaction & networking
– administrative support for organizing artist talks and workshops
– access to curatorial feedback upon request
What is not provided:
– food
– art materials
– personal items (toiletries etc.)
Artists must apply with all of the following materials (incomplete applications will not be accepted):
-a letter of intent
-CV, bio, and artist statement
-detailed project proposal including artist statement
-requested residency duration and dates
-any technical requests/requirements
-10 audio, visual, or video items to support the application.
-any other relevant support materials such as press materials, catalogs, reviews
-letters of support may be included but are not mandatory
