TTIS Mentored Residency is a 5-day, mentor based artist residency that brings together established and emerging contemporary artists from diverse backgrounds to share and develop their technical skills, knowledge and professional practice. The residency results in an exhibited art piece that is presented at the Art in the Open Festival.

this town is small inc. is excited to host Vancouver based artist Samuel Roy-Bois. The residency will involve some fabrication using wood and other discarded materials.

Samuel Roy-Bois has been interested in the ways architecture and, in a broader sense, the built environment, contribute to our understanding of the world. He is always aware of working within an economy of means, voluntarily blurring the border between art and life, and to develop ideas about contemporary ideals and low-scale utopianism. These different artistic strategies are ways to promote ordinary objects and spaces into a poetic dimension, with the wish of renewing one’s gaze and perception.

Deadline is July 19 2019.
