Art Night: Desire Paths tour and workshop

In partnership with CreativePEI, December's Art Night at The Guild will be presented by This Town is Small in the Hilda Woolnough Gallery on December 6th, 2024!

There will be an exhibition tour at 5:00pm, followed by a hands-on found object art-making hangout and chat.

Desire Paths is an exhibition of twelve Island artists working in a range of mediums including printmaking, painting, film, drawing, and sculpture. It features recent artworks selected from an open call for submissions seeking original projects that are forward-thinking and incite conversation.

A desire path describes a walkway that emerges when people choose to deviate from constructed routes. Over time, their footfall carves new passageways into the landscape, inviting others to follow, forming well-trodden paths.

Whether exploring the first steps of a new process, cutting against the grain of convention, or observing the impacts of human activity, this exhibition considers how we navigate and shape the world around us

This exhibition features the work of: Will Baker, Chanel Briggs, Andrew Cairns, Millefiore Clarkes, JoAnna Howlett, Sandy Kowalik, Norma Jean Maclean, Jared Perry, Tessa Rose Rankin, Kal Ross, Damien Worth, Leo(Liu,xin)

The event will be held at the Hilda Woolnough Gallery at the Guild. The venue’s front left side door on Queen Street is equipped with an accessibility button, and the staff operates a wheelchair lift for accessible movement between the lobby, theatre, and gallery. All the restrooms are gender-neutral with accessible stalls. There is a small lip near the entrance to keep in mind.

This event is free and open to all ages.

For any assistance during your visit, the staff will be there to help. If you have accessibility questions, please email Alexandra at info@thistownissmall.com
