On May 12th the Island Media Arts Co-op will kick off the 2nd annual Island Media Arts Festival! Four days of Island wide screenings, panel discussions and workshops… and of course there will be parties, this is PEI and one thing we love to do besides celebrate our creative makers is party.
This town is small has partnered with the IMAFestival this year to coordinate a media art installation in a vacant store front in downtown Charlottetown. Following in the footsteps of the IMAC art@night film installations around downtown as part of the ECMA Arts Linkages Program, this town is small has secured 63 University ave. as a location to present experimental media art curated by Judith Scherer. The media art installation will run every night during the festival. It is really exciting to have media art presented once again on the street in downtown Charlottetown, and this town is small is stoked to be the space finder and collaborator on this project.
Our small town sessions will also be screened during the festival. One session from each filmmaker, Milles Clarkes and Adam Perry will be showcased during regular screenings, and all of the small town sessions will grace the screen at the IMAF Opening night party hosted by Music PEI- this party is FREE and open to the public.

This is an incredible festival with an Island wide scope. I encourage everyone to pick up a festival pass ($40.00 for full access – totally worth it) at The Guild box office in Charlottetown and check out what our media artists have been up to!
